Chief Dental Officer, William Rasband, DDS

A native New Mexican, Dr. Rasband earned his DDS from the University of Missouri in Kansas City in May 2009 and joined Hidalgo Medical Services shortly thereafter in August 2009. Growing up in Farmington, NM he understands life in small communities and the specific needs of patients in rural communities. While in dental school, Dr. Rasband worked in remote locations of Missouri and Kansas, providing a variety of dental services to underserved areas. On a community level, he has volunteered for such programs as Give Kids a Smile and Students Take Action, performing free dental clinics, dental screenings, mentoring at risk children and raising money for children suffering with cancer to attend nearby camps. In addition, Dr. Rasband participated in “Team Smile” in conjunction with the Kansas City Chiefs professional football team to provide an outreach dental program to children in underserved areas. Dr. Rasband, through experience brings a true understanding of dental care in rural New Mexico communities to Hidalgo Medical Services.

Dr. Michele McGorky, DDS

Dr. McGorky was raised in California and attended Whittier College where she graduated with honors with a BA in Biology. While attending Whittier College, Dr. McGorky was a member of Beta Beta Beta Biology Honor Society, maintaining a 3.7 GPA. She received the American Heart Association Research Fellowship along with the Whittier College Academic Scholarship. Dr. McGorky, also served on the chemistry student council, and was a resident hall peer counselor and staff newspaper writer at Whittier College. Dr. McGorky completed her DDS degree at the University of California, Los Angeles graduating with commendations in pediatric dentistry and removable prosthodontics. While attending dental school Dr. McGorky served as the mobile clinic chairman, student facility liaison, and senior student clinic representative.

Dr. Kaiyra Salcido, DDS

Dr. Kaiyra Salcido has returned home to serve as a dentist at HMS. She is a graduate of Cobre High School. She went on to attend the University of New Mexico and received a double major in Biology and Spanish. In 2007 she was accepted into the Creighton University Dental Post Baccalaureate Program in Omaha, Nebraska. After completing the Post Bacc program she began dental school at Creighton University. It was during her time away from Silver City that she realized she wanted to return home, and give back to her small community in Grant County like her mentor Dr. Jay W. Garard. He helped her grasp the true importance of what a health care provider should be by leading through example. In May of 2012 Dr. Salcido received her DDS degree from Creighton University. She and her husband (an Omaha native) moved to Silver City in 2012. They are excited to be living in the “Land of Enchantment” ingesting delicious foods and being in close proximity to family. Dr. Salcido is excited to be working with the outstanding staff at HMS and to begin her career in dentistry.

Jonathan Beck, DDS

Dr. Beck grew up in Sandy Oregon and is the 8th of 10 children. After graduating from high school he then attended Utah State University where he met his wife, Alicia. Dr. Beck graduated from Utah State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Biological Engineering. He then completed a Master’s degree in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Michigan. During his undergraduate and graduate studies, Dr. Beck published several research articles, received the American Heart Association Research Fellowship, and was awarded a National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowship. Dr. Beck attended dental school at Virginia Commonwealth University, where he graduated Magna Cum Laude in May of 2012. Dr. Beck graduated with an official commendation for clinical excellence from the Department of General Practice. During dental school, Dr. Beck received the National Service Corps scholarship and was involved in the community as a youth soccer coach for his boys’ soccer teams. Dr. Beck, Alicia, and their five boys love the outdoors, hiking, camping, and sports. Dr. Beck is excited to be a part of this great community and to be member of the HMS team.

Dr. Laura Sibrava, DMD

Dr. Laura Sibrava grew up outside Chicago, Illinois, but moved east to attend the University of Maryland, studying Microbiology and Fine Arts.  After completing her Bachelor's Degree, Dr. Sibrava worked in dentistry as an assistant.  In 2006, she returned to school to complete her Masters in Biomedical Sciences at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois and then attended Midwestern University's College of Dental Medicine in Glendale, Arizona.  Dr. Sibrava is dedicated to sharing her time and energy serving the community around her, and has received service awards from Arizona Alliance of Community Health Clinics, American Association of University Women, American Student Dental Association, Junior Achievement of America, as well as Midwestern University's Dental Institute and College of Health Sciences.  Dr. Sibrava especially enjoys working with and helping children.  She traveled to Peru to provide pediatric care, and most recently before joining HMS, she practiced pediatric dentistry for the schools of the Apache and Navajo Reservations.  Dr. Sibrava is proud and pleased to be part of the HMS team and is ready to bring big healthy smiles to you and your family. 

Paula Jenkins, Dental Hygienist

Paula Jenkins has been employed with Hidalgo Medical Services since 1998 as a Dental Hygienist. Paula worked in Lordsburg for six years and has been at Silver City Med Square Dental Clinic since it opened in November 2004. Paula attended Western New Mexico University and received her Dental Hygiene degree from the University of New Mexico in 1979. Paula was born in Las Vegas, NM. While growing up, Paula worked in her father’s dental office after school. It was because of this experience, along with a little pushing from her mom that she became a Dental Hygienist. She enjoys working with all age groups, and lives in Cliff, NM with her husband and four children.

Richard Deaton, Dental Hygienist

Richard Deaton has joined Hidalgo Medical Services team as of August 25, 2008 and serves as the HMS Dental Hygienist at the Lordsburg Clinic. He joins Hidalgo Medical Services with 10 years experience as a dental hygienist. Richard received his Bachelor of Science in Dental Hygiene at Idaho State University in 1998. Before that, he served in the US Navy for six years. Richard moved to Silver City in 2005 from Twin Falls, Idaho. He has been married to his wife Amanda for one year. Together they own Gila House Hotel and Gallery 400, located downtown Silver City. Richard is also a director on the Silver City Main Street Board.

Andrea McClendon, Dental Hygienist

Andrea McClendon is a lifelong resident of Southwestern New Mexico. Andrea graduated in 1990 from Deming High School. After high school she married and had two children Stephanie and Matthew. In 1999 she became a certified dental assistant and worked as a dental assistant for four years. In 2003 Andrea enrolled at El Paso Community College and received her dental hygiene degree in 2005. Andrea worked for HMS in Lordsburg and Silver City from 2005-2008. Andrea recently moved to the White Signal area and is excited to be back practicing dental hygiene in Lordsburg with Hidalgo Medical Services.

Savanna Hunt, Dental Hygienist

Savanna Hunt was born and raised in Idaho Falls, ID. In high school she worked as a sterilization technician and dental assistant and enjoyed the dental environment. After graduating high school, Savanna went to college at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho, where she graduated with a Bachelor degree in Dental Hygiene in 2010. While in Pocatello, Savanna met her husband Joe. Savanna started her career as a hygienist in the small town of Salmon, ID where she worked for two years before she moved to Silver City. Savanna, her husband, and daughter enjoy the outdoors and music. They are enjoying the weather in Silver City and are excited to be part of the community.
