Dr. Neal A. Bowen, PhD, Mental Health DirectorDr. Bowen earned BA degrees in Psychology in Milan, Italy and from the University of Texas, where he also earned a masters in Educational Psychology and a doctorate in Counseling Psychology. Dr. Bowen left the faculty of Central Washington University in 2005 to join HMS. Dr. Bowen provides therapy in Spanish and Italian, as well as English and specializes in migration and acculturation issues, trauma and mood and personality disorders. Dr. Bowen also conducts research in the area of ethnic identity development and the impact on psychotherapeutic outcomes. Dr. Bowen was the founder of the Sunrise Center, a mental health clinic for refugees and immigrants in Austin, TX. Jason Coe, M.D.Dr. Coe received his Medical degree from the University of Colorado School of Medicine, in Denver, Colorado. He completed his residency in psychiatry at the University of Colorado Hospital. Dr. Coe served as Chief Resident of outpatient services in Adult Psychiatry at Denver Health Medical Center. Dr. Coe received a Bachelor of Science in both chemistry and biology, graduating Cum Laude from Colorado State University. He has also worked in teaching and chemical research prior to commencing medical training. Born in Michigan, Dr. Coe grew up in Colorado. He moved to Silver City and joined Hidalgo Medical Services in June 2008. Dr. Coe and his wife Stephanie have two young sons. The Coes enjoy family time, nature, literature, and travel. Dr. Coe’s practice is open to adults, children, adolescents, seniors and chemical dependence. Dr. Coe is licensed to dispense buprenorphine for the treatment of opiate dependence. Lisa Houston,PhD.Dr. Lisa Houston is generalist psychologist who is also a licensed mental health clinical counselor. She holds a Master's in Human Relations with an emphasis in counseling from the University of Oklahoma. She recently completed her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from New Mexico State University. Dr. Houston completed her psychology internship at the Mountain Home Veteran's Administration Hospital in eastern TN, where she completed rotations and specialized training in the Post Traumatic Stress clinic, Primary Care Psychology, PsychoSocial Rehabilitation, and The Spinal Cord Clinic. Special interests for her practice include women's issues, anxiety disorders and psychological aspects of treating chronic disease. Her research interests focus on narrative methodology and multicultural issues. Dr. Houston lives in Silver City with her family. She enjoys hiking and playing the accordion badly, though not at the same time. Jay Glickman, MA, LPCCMr. Glickman earned his M.A. degree from West Georgia University in 2006, in a program specializing in Humanistic Psychology. This approach to therapy is primarily developmental, holistic, and emotions based, with an emphasis on issues related to emotional regulation. Jay currently works mostly with adults, couples, and adolescents. This is Jay’s second time living in Silver City; he lived here for nine years previous to 2003, and owned the Desert Exposure magazine, which he ran for 6 years. Jay is also an artist, actor, and writer. Blanca Jaure, MA, LMHCVioleta “Blanca” Jaure is the newest member of the mental health staff at Hidalgo Medical Services. She sees patients at the HMS Lordsburg Clinic and works with students at School-Based Health Center on the Lordsburg High School campus. Jaure recently returned to her hometown of Silver City, NM after graduating with her Master’s degree in order to be closer to her family and give back to the community in which she primarily grew up. Jaure received her Masters degree in Counseling and Educational Psychology from New Mexico State University in 2008. Prior to that, she earned her Bachelor of Science in Psychology, as well as Chemical Dependency, graduating Cum Laude from Western New Mexico University. Jaure has worked with diverse populations in many different settings and has experience working with family systems, and with children as well as adults. She is currently recognized by the State of New Mexico as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) and a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC). Barbara Cichosz, M.Ed, LMFTBarbara Cichosz received her Master’s of Education in Counseling, Family and Human Services, with a specialization in Couple and Family Therapy in 2007 from the University of Oregon. Family therapy addresses issues within the individual or group’s framework, taking into account family, work, school and other social contexts. Barbara joined HMS as part of a new integrative health program for depression and anxiety in primary health care settings. Her interests include couples and group therapy, trauma issues, gender and GLBTQ issues. Outside of work, Barbara enjoys reading, cooking and traveling. Rayna Blanco, MA, LMHCRayna Blanco earned her BA in psychology from Vassar College. She went on to earn MA degrees in psychology and counseling from The New School for Social Research and Western New Mexico University, respectively. Rayna's clinical and research interests include play therapy, family systems, gender, trauma, and emotion. |
